Florida Bird Photography Adventures

Florida Bird Photography Adventures specializes in private tours for individuals and groups who wish to photograph birds and bird behavior in their Florida habitat. Tour leaders Nick Leadley and David Meardon draw on their intimate knowledge of Southwest Florida birding hotspots and their passion for bird photography to offer a variety of locations with opportunities to view and capture compelling avian images.

Best photography and ethical practices are shared in the field to assist photographers in optimizing their photography skills and documenting bird behavior. Tours are concentrated on Southwest Florida locations, including the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge, the Bailey Tract and other birding hotspots on Sanibel Island, as well as Harnes Marsh, Estero Lagoon, burrowing owl and eagle nesting locations throughout Lee County.

Nick is a professional nature and wildlife photographer and Registered Maine Guide who spends the winter months in Florida immersed in bird photography. David is a 35 year resident of Sanibel Island and professional photographer with an avid interest in the birds and wildlife of the region.

Together they provide a custom experience for photographers whose goals are to explore and document the world of birds in Southwest Florida.

Workshops

Come join us in southwest Florida as the winter bird population swells with migrants taking up residence along the Gulf Coast. During your three-day bird photography trip, you will also get to meet the native avian residents as they go about their daily lives. Spring participants will get to encounter the migrants from South and Central America as they travel north to their summer breeding grounds. Whether in winter or spring the workshops will offer abundant opportunities to photograph birds, improve your bird photography bird skills and learn to approach your subject in a safe and respectful manner. We look forward to hearing from you.
